In the episode they got the years wrong. The war against Japan was between 1592-1598 and not 100 years earlier like they stated.

Maybe, but even if it was, I want to point out that it wouldn’t have had any effect on the validity of the test. It couldn’t have been THAT light to move, and no part of the myth said that they couldn’t put wheels on it to make it easier to move. It was all about whether or not it could fire 200 arrows 500 yards and have them explode.

I would LOVE to get the raw data from the Beer Goggles myth. Not to get too geeky, but the power of the paired t-sample t-test is FAR greater than two-sample t-test. In short, comparing before-versus-after by face will give a much clearer result to the beer goggles test than simply totalling the numbers. If I had the final data set, I could crunch in about 30 seconds to PROVE whether beer goggles are legitimate, even with just 15 faces from the sober and drunk sample. Pretty please, guys? ;o).

Please, guys, there isn’t anything entertaining about watching drunks making idiots of themselves. I did that for a lot of years and I can tell you it makes no difference how or what you drink, if you do it long enough it will ruin your life.

They messed up the Beer Goggles myth big time. Set me straight here folks, but isn’t the myth that the person you wouldn’t give the time of day to when you are sober, starts to look better to you as you get drunker? Until they look real good? Using different people to rate as they drink more negates the myth as far as I can see.
